Lisa recently joined the Center as the editor of the Medical Humanities Report. In addition to this job, she also works as the editorial assistant of Hypatia, a feminist philosophy journal that has been based out of Michigan State University for the last two years and will remain here for three more years.
Lisa received her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Vermont
majoring in philosophy, minoring in sociology, and completing all of the pre-med
requirements. After her undergraduate career, she worked in New York City
as a high school biology and chemistry teacher, a middle school science and
math teacher, and a paralegal for a medical litigation firm. She received
her Masters in philosophy from Michigan State University in May 2005 after
defending her Masters thesis, “A Feminist Critique of Rational Democratic
Deliberation for Health Care Rationing.” She is now continuing as a
Ph.D. student at MSU focusing on bioethics, feminism, social/political philosophy,
and ethics and development
